Are you planning to attend the JSU football game Saturday when the Jackson State Tigers meet the Alabama State Hornets at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium? With construction surrounding the stadium, it will be tougher than ever to navigate parking on your own.
Instead, leave your parking and traffic worries behind. Park at a remote location and let Jackson's JATRAN do the driving.
JATRAN has partnered with JSU to provide Park-N-Ride services to all Tigers home games. Fans can park free at Jackson State University Lee E. Williams Athletic Assembly Center and at the Jackson Medical Mall (350 W. Woodrow Wilson Drive). Then, board a JATRAN bus for a ride to the stadium.
The cost for the ride is $3 per person and buses will start boarding two hours prior to the 5 p.m. kick-off. Jackson Police officers will escort the JATRAN buses into the gate of the stadium so you won't experience delays.
Riders can purchase bus passes Monday through Friday at the JATRAN Administration office, located at 1025 University Blvd. Fans can also pay cash upon boarding a bus, but they must have exact fare; bus operators do not carry change.
For more information, contact JATRAN during week at 601-326-5411. On Saturday, call 601-960-0725.
